DIRECTOR OF FINANCE  ...ON CALL !

Finally the expertise of an experienced and skilled Director of Finance just when you need it!  Many small organizations cannot afford the luxury of hiring a high quality full-time Director of Finance, though they recognize the need for one.  Because we work exclusively with small nonprofit organizations, we are expanding our practice to address this growing need for expert financial oversight at an affordable price.

HOW CAN A DIRECTOR OF FINANCE HELP YOU?

Decision modeling - When you are contemplating making a decision to launch an additional program or modify or remove other programs, you need precise cost accounting and forecasting information.  Should you launch that capital campaign?  How will that effect current operations?  If you accept a remainder trust donation, will it cost more in the long run than the gift is currently valued?  Our skills and experience will provide you with the best decision modeling analysis and advice.

Comparisons and best practices - Do you know how your organization compares to others?  Are you even sure about what are the critical financial indicators of good health and best practices?  Are there downward turning trends you should be alerted to?  How sustainable are your current operations?  Our specialists are continually monitoring developments and best practices in the nonprofit industry and are skilled at making sure you and your staff are kept up-to-date.

Board and management reporting - every member of your organization needs different information to perform their jobs at maximum effectiveness.  And they need it quickly, not three months later.  Without timely, appropriately designed financial information, staff and board members could be operating in the dark.  We can set up monthly financial reports and highlights that are specifically designed for each member’s needs.

Cash Flow Forecasts - for most nonprofit organizations, cash flow is critical to successful programs and administration.  Preparing an annual budget is the most common way to manage expectation, but setting up a cash flow forecast will better reflect the timing of cash flowing into and out of your organization every week, month and quarter.  This is especially critical if you manage several grants that must be spent within certain time limits.  We can help you monitor cash flow status and alert you to upcoming shortfalls or concerns.

Policy and procedures - every organization needs well designed and implemented internal controls, but in small organizations with limited staff, these can’t always be ideal.  Our specialist are adept at helping you design the best internal controls using your current staff and organizing them in a written and continually updated policy and procedure manual.

NEED BOOKKEEPING HELP TOO?

Through the use of our safeguarded server, you can access your financial data from anywhere, track expenses and write checks from remote locations and still have the safety of controlled multi-user access and automatic daily data backups.  Deposits can go directly to a third party for processing; giving you detailed donor and other deposit information and the ultimate internal controls.  It is the most flexible system available in this age of telecommuting staff.  Or you can completely outsource the cash receipts, expense and payroll processing functions to us.

Bookkeeping services can include payroll and state/local tax compliance reporting, business filings, event registration, gift tracking, and grant invoicing.

WHAT LEVEL DO YOU NEED?

· Full outsourced accounting control
  · Temporary finance or accounting staff replacement
  · Interim or part-time financial management
  · Finance department oversight

We can develop an accounting solution tailored to your organizations needs at any level.  If you don’t need the services as much one month as the next, you only pay for the time used.  We also can limit the services and fees to a “not to exceed” agreement each month, so you’ll always know what to expect.

Needs change over time, so if part of your interest is to hire a full accounting staff in-house at some point in the future, we’ll help you set up the systems and train the people to do this.
